As far as I know the paint will chip/flake off. your better off dyeing them with RIT dye. Of course if the rims are black then you wont be able to dye them I dont think.

If you do paint them get paint meant for plastic (Krylon Fusion is 1) and clean the rims real good so the paint sticks good.

I painted my stock white wheels on my RC10GT blue just by... I masked off the tires as not to get overspray on them, cleaned the wheels up to where there was absolutely NO dirt on them, hit 'em up with some Adhesion Promoter (let that dry), sprayed the blue (let dry), sprayed some clear coat and slapped 'em back on. No issues with chipping/flaking and I did that about 2years ago...been running the truck that way since. Good Luck

I just used some Dupli-Color adhesion promoter from AutoZone, then used some Dupli-Color car/truck rattle can for the color and clear. I also for the prep work used 'Prep Sol' to clean 'em up...also from AutoZone. As far as my RC10, I ran it mostly on the track where there were some rocks, so they have taken some abuse.
