I just ripped apart my old 4Tec .15 for a decent clean. Gotta finish it today.

yes..everything is compatible. look at my photo album and you will see that I have the older .15 pro chassis with a 2.5R on it, 3.3 front and rear diffs. the only thing you need to make it all work is the 2.5 or 3.3 throttle/brake linkages. the plus side is unlike the 2.5 chassis, the .15 pro chassis has the same gears on the pulley...20t instead of the 15t that came on the 2.5 chassis.

there were no major changes in any of the chassis, except the radio tray cover, color of the plastic decks, and the gears on the 2.5 chassis.

a couple of tips for better power and handling

dont use the traxxas header pipe..its a really small i.d. and restricts the crap out of it, i dont care what anyone says...on my 2.5R I used the header from a Yokomo GT4 II, and a standard exhaust coupler spring...made one hell of a difference in the bottom and mid range power band.

you can also use the Yokomo GT4 II aluminum shocks...they work wonders....

look at my album, and if you have any questions feel free to email me...I was hitting 90+ mph with my 4-Tec until I killed the piston, but I have alot of little tips and tricks that will help with your conversion.

Sorry for a bit of a thread derailment, but can I use offroad tires on my Nitro 4-tec onroad rims? Will they give me more ground clearance i.e make the car sit higher up? The roads around my house are not smoothly paved but more a mix of gravel and tar.

you can, but be sure to trim the body accordingly...you can use the Tamiya rally tires too...

Wheels and tires are generally all of the same size, with varying degrees of offset. Rally tread tyres by their nature should have a slightly greater external circumference.

you can also use 1/8 wheels/tires, but you will need to find the hub adapters that are compatible with the 4-Tec chassis. I have seen them before, I will try to find the link for you
