Hey, im just about to throw my aftershock across the yard! Whenever I go to start the engine, the pullstart will work for a couple of pulls, but then it stops working. It feels as though it is slipping, but whenever I take apart the backplate assembly, everything looks fine, including the owb. has anyone had this problem on their truck, please help (I need to get it tuned soon because I have a big race to go to next weekend)

Sounds like you need to clean the 1-way bearing.

It could be the one way, but i would look at this first, mine started doing the same thing after about six tanks of fuel, took the back plate off and there's a plastic gear that the starting shaft gear grabs onto to turn the motor over mine stripped out and now i have to use spin start, but i'm still using the same back plate just not the pull start. Good thing losi put the combo back plate on the aftershock

Simple fix that usually works is after priming engine a little more than usual(Blowing through pressure line if still slipping), tilt truck so the pullstart is towards the ground and crankshaft is pointing up and let it sit for a few seconds. The fuel saturates the owb and washes off excess oil, and it usually grabs right away again. I have to do this if I don't completely run the fuel out and the oil thickens around the owb.

I broke the nut on the spinstart backplate 3 times from using a drill, which i am guessing was too powerful.

Yikes, it's a good thing you didn't twist the rod in half doing that. Drills are ok to use, but they should have a clutch that will slip if the engine is hydro-locked before breaking stuff.
