Had another hard crash because the tail isn't dialed in right yet. I have NO stripped servos and all my arms are at 90 degrees when powered up. Even with my Telebee HH gyro in head lock mode, the heli continues to fly in circles when I throttle up. I can get it to spin either clock wise or counter clock wise depending on on I adjust the gyro, but I can never get it to stop spinning altogether. The only thing I haven't tried or adjusted is position of the linkage on my tail servo. The holes in the arm aren't big enough to move the linkage around, do I have to make them bigger to use them?

Also, my head seems to go all over the place when I spin her up? Its like the stock servos aren't holding the swash in place and its spinning crazy. Is this normal? I don't have anything bent in the head except a feathering shaft. The linkages and main shaft all appear to be straight.

replace the feathering shaft asap! this will cause major vibrations throughout the head. REMOVE the wires to the motor and power up both your heli and tx. set your throttle stick to center with idle up on. now make sure that the arms on the cyclic servos is at 90 degrees with the swash. check your pitch of blades with a pitch guage. they should be at 0 degrees at half throttle in idle up. you should get 6 or 7 degrees at maximum throttle and -6 or -7 degrees at low stick. if your heli is spinning one way then adjust the tail servo holder. move it up or down the boom. if one way makes it worst than move it the other way. usually i move it up the boom towards the nose. that should do the trick.

Did you have the tail off?
Check to make sure that the tail belt is not flipped, this will make it spin uncontrollable.
See if the tail blades are turning the correct direction.

What kind of tail servo are you using?
I had the exact dame problem with the telebee, regardless of what servo I used for the tail, it would just spin in both directions.
All I have to do was flip the little reverse switch on the gyro it self.

Should I be able to throttle up and have the tail stay planted in one position in head lock mode? Mine is getting better but its still not right. I also notice its slow to turn one way but the other it will spin very fast.

The heli will always turn a little when you're first lifting off as there aren't enough rpms in the tail rotors to hold the tail. Once in a hover this disappears. The slow turn one way is usually because the king2 tail pitch lever binds on one side. One way to fix it is to place the tail pitch slider with the blade 400 one or you can unscrew the two links that go to the tail blades a couple times.

I still cannot get it to stay straight. I can almost get it to stay level but when I lift off I have to gift it full throttle and it spins counter clock wise like crazy. I also can't get the heli higher then 5-6 feet off the ground. Is this a problem with the stock motor and ESC? Its spinning like crazy though and no amount of stick or trim adjustments on the radio will fix it. All my servos seem to be at 90 degrees but something isn't right. The tail rotor is spinning correctly I think. If you stand directly behind the heli the top blade chases the bottom blade.

I'm using a Hitec 50 tail servo and putting in Hitec 55 cyclic's tommorow. I just read that you aren't supposed to use Hitec's with the stock radio. Is this part of the problem?

Did you try reversing either the servo or the gyro?

I haven't tried the servo. I will in the morning. I stripped a cyclic and I am putting 55s in their place.

you might be digging yourself into a deeper hole with the 55s...hitec and jr servos turn clockwise...futaba and esky servos turn counter-clockwise...a computer radio can overcome this, but if you're using a stock xmtr, you'll run into problems...i think...it really sounds like you need to reverse the gyro, if the tail blades are moving correctly, but the heli kicks around as you try to lift off...try this: hold the heli in your hand and quickly turn the nose to the left, the leading edge of the tail blades should move toward the tail boom...ken

your away ahead of yourself putting in 55s
you have a stock radio so forget it. Btw they are not much good for cyclic (besides turning the wrong way) and will not work less you buy reversing connector cables (they are more then just a reversed conn they have a circuit board on them) 15$ each!
put back in your Esky servos till you get the problems you have sorted out. They will work just fine for the time being!
I upgraded just about everything including the radio tx and rx before I really got into upgrading my cyclic servos (yes I went through my share and at least 2 other peoples share of servos by then but it was cheaper in the long run)
If your head is wobbleing around you need to concecntrate on fixing that, ... then worry about your tail.
Your getting too far ahead of yourself.
Try starting at the beginning...
Before you mess with the tail replace your feathering shaft, it's bent! We already know that!
You already told us that so fix that then we can work on the tail.
Be sure you install the parts and shims in the correct order when you do it. The O rings go in with a little oil on then the shims if needed go on the shaft outside the washers the little brass washers go on with the convexe side (curved out) side against the bearings in the blade holder ( so they bear on the inner bearing race) the bearings in the blade holder have to races one has a large hole one a small hole the one with the smaller hole drops in first the bearings go in with the "loose" balls pointed towards the innside, the outer race has a larger inner hole (or appears to) it goes in last then the washer and the locknut. You do have the correct nutdrivers to do this, right?
You should have no in and out play on the blade holders and no up and down slop in the blade holders. They should be free and not binding or stiff, shake them they should rattle!

From the factory, my little convexed washers were pointing in toward the o-ring. Are you sure that they point toward the bearing? Sucks if i learned it wrong because of an error at Esky...I think with my new head, I installed them wrong then too...If they are wrong, they sure work great! hehehe

Funflier. How come you didn't rip 60in3 a new one for the HS50 on the tail like you did to me?

Actually 60in3, if you still have the box for that servo, you will read that it is a 4.8 volts ONLY servo and you run a good chance of frying it real quick! You should stick to servos that will operate within a larger range 4.8-6.0v...For the price and durability you might want to consider Tower Pro 90's on the cyclic. Way less sloppy with nylon gears and run the same direction as stock. I have seen them for $24.99 for 4 of them online.

Recently, i found a main gear that had the one-way pressed in backwards at the factory...i think a worker was experiencing 'burn-out' from his 10-cent a day salary...lol...ken
