Me and my neighbor put our 2 "parts" buggys together to get 1 running. We just want to have some fun and destroy the car. We have a jump and we were planning on running the car full speed down the road and ramping it. But, the car has everything except and exhaust. Its got the exhaust manifold but thats it. We arent planning on running the car very long. Just get it running, tune it up, then destroy it!! i was wondering if i can run it like that. Its just going to be very loud.

it wont run at all because the exhaust system(muffler) has a line that goes to the top of the fuel tank that pressurizes the tank pushing fuel to the motor. id say put a pipe on it. i dont know the chances of the pipe getting destroyed though.

well maybe you could costruct one. im sure it could be done. more like a temporary pipe til it gets demolished. dont know if it would work but just got the though... maybe a metal cigar case and tap 2 holes in it...maybe 3/16 brake line for an outlet and an outlet to pressurize the tank...opoxy them in.dont know if it would hold up to the temp. kinda crude idea. dont know how much performance you'd get out of it.but beats ordering one for a demo.not saying it will work. just a though.im sure there are better ways of making one.

i can take my exhaust off and it will idle good, and i can punch it and it takes off but when it starts to get some speed it boggs real bad, and thats stock fuel line too.

It's no surprise that it could run at idle or part throttle - look where the carburettor 'jet' is - it's on the vacuum side of the throttle blade. So provided the throttle isn't very far open, the vacuum will suck the fuel through. That's why you can refuel your car with the engine running.

However, at open throttle, the dominant cause of fuel flow is indeed the exhaust pressure, so I'd expect it to run grossly lean at open throttle.
