Status: offline 		As far as I know, the lower freqs work better than the higher ones, i.e., they reach more depths (just a few feet deeper).

But, according to your experience, which ones yield the best results? And what about the modulation, AM, FM, PCM?

Status: offline 		AM, FM, PCM (which is FM) has no measurable differance for any of the RC frequencies. The quality of your radio gear and how many watts (more likely milliwatts) the transmitter is pumping out will be the deciding factor here.

Status: offline 		75 Mhz is the only legal (except 27Mhz-yuk) band to use here in the US & A. As for modulation, FM is what you want for submarines. PCM is nice, however, PCM was primarily developed for the airplane guys. It can and does cause problems with subs as it will interfere with failsafes. PCM modulation has a built in failsafe that will cause problems that FM simply will not.
