Status: offline 		i just got a used 2s lipo, and dont know what is safe rate to charge it at. my charger cant do over 2.5 amps. my 3s lipo can be charged at 5amps, but i wasnt sure how much lower i should go for a 2s. oh, its a 2s, 15c, 24burst, 4000mah lipo.

Status: offline 		It doesn't matter whether its 3S or 2S. It depends on the mah of the battery. its 1c = 1amp charge racte generallry. 4000 mah battery = 4 amp charge rate.

but his lipo is 15c, so wouldn't that make it 15 amps by what you are saying?

Status: offline 		No, 15c means the output of the battery. 1c = however many amp hours. In this case 4000 milliamp hours = 4 amp hours. So you charge it at 4 amps maximum. A 15c 4000mah can output a constant 15 x 4 amps which is 60 amps. Regardless of cell count, always charge your battery at 1c, take the mah of the battery, divide by 1000, thats your charge rate.

Charge rate is always 1C regardless of what the discharge rate is. So 4amps is right for a 4000mah battery.

Status: offline 		so "nitrosports" would probably want to get a different charger, since he has a 4000 mah batt and a 2.5 amp charge rate? or atleast the charge would take longer, like twice the time

Status: offline 		that isnt bad. but i have never had an electric, but i am looking for one. my brother has a nicd in a rustler and that thing takes like 4 hours to charge so i thought it might be the same for lipo, guess not!!

Status: offline 		yeh, my 5000mah 3s lipo takes 2hours to charge at the max 2.5 that the charger can do. i guess its safe to charge the 2s at 2.5 as well. its nice if it takes alittle less time than the 3s.
2.5amps charging max for lipo is the only real drawback to my charger. but it costs alittle less than other lipo chargers, and is really easy to use.
