I just purchased an APC 15X4W prop for my Saito 100. The problem I have is the thickness of the prop and the spinner/jam nut that I have. The spinner adapter/jam nut isn't deep enough to jam up against the prop nut by about 1/2 an inch. What do I use for a spacer or where can I get a deeper spinner adapter?
Thanks

I take it that the lock nut wont tighten against the prop nut? Two ways out of it, 1) make a spacer between the engine prop driver and the back of the spinner, 2) use a different type of lock nut and a new spinner adapter nut.

Cheers

I've cut out the middle of a broken spinner to use as a spacer before.

My 82 swings a 15X4 APC. Seems like that is a little small for a 100.

I've been told by many a 15X4W or 16X4W is the prop of choice for this motor. The instructions call for up a 15 X 6

I'm just using a spare engine washer inbetween my prop and the washer/adapter nut. It works fine and hasnt came loose yet without a jam nut.

I've only swung a 14X8 on my 100. 15X6 or 16X4 fall into the drop in pitch for increase in length rule of thumb. Just make sure it doesn't over rev.

I flew it with the 14 X 8 and it has like ZERO vertical. The load on a 16 X 4 is the same as the 14 X 8 a load factor of 36. The 15 X 4 is a little less, but being wide bladed, still shouldn't over-rev the motor.
