Ok - really excited - all my new gear for my HBK2 arrived today:

3*HS65MG for cyclic
GY401 gyro
Fut 9257 tail servo
DX7 Tx & 6100e Rx

My current setup is:

HBK2 with CNC Head and Tail
Superskids
Esky 3900 (currently fitted) but also have 3800 on standby (was too lazy to get the dremel out to install the 3800)
Esky 25A ESC
43T Extreme pulley

I have a few questions though:

1. Dx7 - I was supplied with a 110V charger. I live in South Africa where we have 240V 50 Hz AC supply so I cannot use the supplied charger. I do have a Chargery 1010B balancer/charger which can charge NiMH bats. Is there a way I can charge the battery with my own charger otherwise any suggestions as to how I can set this up to charge the battery? I have read somewhere that I need to take care because the spektrum charger have a negative inside terminal which is not commonly used.

2. I don't have any receiver bats - do I need these?

3. HS65MG's - can anyone advise how to install these on the King2?

4. Will the standard 25A ESC supply enough current to drive the 401, 9257, and HS65MG's or do I need to upgrade the ESC. I do have a CC Phoenix35 lying around that I could try and use instead if you recommend it.

I can only help with questions 2 and 4 but I'm sure you will get the others answered quickly. You don't need receiver batteries, they run off of the flight pack. As for the ESC, that is usually one of the first things replaced by most Esky owners ( I have a Belt CP). With the money you put into quality TX, Servos, and gyro it would definitely be good to upgrade the ESC. I believe the CC Phoenix 35 would work great with those electronics.

As far as using the supplied 110v charger I think there are voltage converters that can be used that would adapt from your power to the 110v charger. I cant think of what thay are called but if any one in the US does alot of traveling over seas this is a common item that we have to alow us to use are standard 110v items in your country. I am assuming that the 110v charger is for charging the transmitter battery so using one of the converters should do the trick. For the installation of the servos it should be for the most part a direct bolt in. I did have to file some to clear the top of the servos on the aluminum anitrotation bracket that I have but other than that they just bolt in. Check out the pic's.

Get rid of the E-SKY ESC, with the good electronics that you have you need a better ESC. I use a dynam 30A. I have had good luck with it. I just saw one smoke and catch fire last week. Nearly destroyed the whole heli.

Look at the output voltage and amperage(expressed in milliamps mA) on the charger that was supplied with your DX7. Get a transformer locally that matches that output, match the polarity of the wires on a charging plug that fits the radio and you should be in business.

The DX7 manual describes the polarity of the charging plug IIRC.

also the the dx7 along with the dx6i charger circuit that is in the radio is designed for Nicads NOT nimh batteries. All your really looking for is a small power supply that puts out about 6 volts at 500 mah. Oh and 240 volts input. Mine came with a charger (110 volt) for the nicads (but did not include the nicads) but I found it took 4 to 6 hours to charge them! I would recommend using rechargeable Nimh batteries with a seperate charger, or if you buy a charger for your Hili Lipo battery buy one that can charge Nimh batteries also. I use one of those little 4 AA cell battery holders with connector on the top that plugs into my charger, allows me to charge my tx AA batteries (2200Mah) up in about 1 hour.

I just got through installing HS-65KB servos in my king. I had to elongate the center holes on the servos a touch but as I was using the stock antirotation bracket I only had to shim my front servo forward and now that I have finished I see that was not even necessary. Hardest part is making up the ball links I used the short rods that come in the BeltCP linkage kit as they thread right onto our plastic links, I wanted to use our links so I could stick with the esky/eflite small balls for clearance and alignment.
Also you will have to center all your servos in the middle and set them with the subtrim on the redio so the links move in unison and check you have the correct throw so they are not operating in an arc. I have some pictures posted somewhere in this forum on the completed setup and you will see its a piece of cake and well worth the effort once you fly it.
Very Very solid and not overly sensitive but very responsive and much easier to fly and with the rate gyro set it is hands off hovor if the darn people in the next tennis court would stop waving there rackets and making a draft!
I will look for the pictures and post them again for you.

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_7608943/mpage_2/key_/tm.htm
they are on Posts 35 and pictures on 36
Post # is in lower right corner of the post in the margin area.
Need more info just pm me as I said most important thing was getting everything centered and moving in unison at all times.

Fun, Can you post some side view pics?

here ya go. Sticks are all at center so arms are at center. Hard to see but the screw on the pitch servo extends thru the arm, if it was ground off the washers on the elevator servo between the servo and its mount would not have been needed. (actually they werent but I added them for good measure when I was installing the servos). Probably grind it off and remove the washers just to neaten it up. I will see if I can get a better pic of the left side.
