Is that a chain-tethered padlock on the turret roof, fleshpedler? Was that common practice to have a padlock to lock the tank hatches?

How did you make it?

Really like your Tamiya Pershing. How about some more pics? Fine work.

Yep there is a picture in R. P. Hunnicutt book of the Pershing Page No 125.
Simple to make out of plastic card and some .04mm wire. I had to hand some chain that
comes from Scale Link here in Britain and it is 32links to the inch, yes very small
and i shall now use this on the .50cal machine gun. The .04mm wire was also used
to make a very small loop poked through hole drilled in turret roof somewhere close as i have it
and super glued in place
I also used the wire to make a tall loop so that the hatch will close down over this,
beware that making the slot in hatch hasp is diffcult in the fact that there is not much (meat)
in this area of plastic.
Hope this is of help , i will post some pics for you after i have changed there res because at some
4 million pixels takes to long to download.

Is that the same chain you used to retain the headlight socket "plugs"? Looks quite good. Nice to see someone with such an eye for Pershing details...

I am starting to work on a Pershing and would be interested in photos of your work, I don't think you would be jacking this thread, it has wandered around the Pershing topic, but all of it is interesting.

Pc....just doing some detailed research and find that the 1st Marine div did, in fact, take part in operation Ripper. I am waiting for a reply from people who are in that field and trying to get correct, historic info. Both were 8th Army operations and I don't believe USMC tanks had the tiger markings, but will post the info as soon as I get confirmation. Army units definately no, but the Marines were there with Pershings.

I don't think so either, never seen ANY mention of Marine Pershing's with those markings. Interested in seeing what you find out Bill.
