I bought a Hanger 9 J3 cub used from a LHS . It has 4 JR servos and a Hitec (for rudder). All the servo horns look alike and I know one way or the other something is wrong. The JR horns have a offset too them and I have never seen a Hitec horn have that off set. Is there a way to tell if the horns are JR or Hitec???????

OK, I think I found the answer already. Went back and looke at some old posts and found that the hitec do not fit the JR. and they don't.

new question do the JR's have a funny offset to thier horns, all or some????????

Is thier a count to the teeth to tell?

thanks

Ya you are right. I did some testing and there was a JR horn on the Hitec servo setup for the elevater!!!!!!!

Glad I checked it, I could have lost a new plane on the first flight. I plan to change it over to all Hitec servos. I will put a hitec horn on the one that came with it and not use the JR's. I don't need a bunch of different servos around. I have my old Futaba's and now Hitec, I am marking all my Hitec servo horns.

wonder why they dont put thier marks on the horns for thier servo's, you know like F= Futaba JR= JR, etc. and thing to help us keep them stright..

I don't think the JR servo arms have any actual offset to them. They just look like they do because of the funky shape. Lay a straight edge across the holes and if they all line up while bisecting the output shaft hole, then there is no offset.

Yes, I see what you mean. I was sure they were JR, but I went up the LHS and jerry agreed they were JR horns. I picked up some more Hitec 425's, will stick with them.

Real glad I did not fly that cub with the hitec servo and a JR horn!!!!!!!!!

I'm not going to keep those two JR's , don't keen more problems

thanks

Hi!
JR has 23, Hitec 24 and Futaba has 25 spines on the output axle/servo horns.
