I have the old style. Trying to open the transmission to get into the differential. How do you remove part# 1951 to get into part # 2549.

I have already removed part # 2743 (2).

Screwdriver, just bend the plastic and pop it out.

Your Traxxas tool kit should have a tool for it. Its a piece of metal with a slot in the end.

yeah it's like a little thin U-joint puller, you put it around one over the ball and pry up on the plastic piece. It will bend a lot, probably will make you uncomfortable how much it will bend and then you can pull the piece out. But it's ok when it bends that much

Yeah, I got it out. I was surprised that those didnt break. I finally found that tool, right after i used the screw driver. I thought that tool was for adjusting the steering rods, now I know what its for. It was much easier with the tool when I had to do it with on my 2nd transmission.
