Hello again,
considering the valuable help i had on my other post on 2V lead battery i'll try to submit to you all another problem i have.

I've an Integy 16x7v6 charger that has a strange behaviour only when i try to charge 8 cells (any kind of cells), in this case the charger seems not able to reach the set amp charge.

If i set 8 cells at 1,5 amp of charge (or even more) the charger is just able to reach 0,5 amp and after 5 minutes it give the error "CHARGER TOO HOT" and stop charging, this happens both with AC or DC supply and only for 8 cells setting. If i try to charge 7 or less everything works fine with superb charging performance.

A friend of mine has the same charger and the same problem..... we already tried to ask Integy with more than one email, but we had no answer.....

Any one ever had this problem or can have an explanation??

Thanks in advance.

The current capabilbity is dependent upon the voltage differential across the charger. (the difference between input and output voltage)

Your output voltage is quite high and/or your input voltage is quite low, in any event decreasing output voltage or increasing the input voltage will fix it. Short heavy leads into and out of the charger may help, increasing the power supply or supply battery voltage will help.

Temp error , no idea.
