Well since I got my new 2.4 6EX in, I took her out to get remaidened yesterday by the club vp, and to buddy box on it. Well he had to work late and just came out there after work w/o bringing his stuff. I had him take it up, and it only needed to clicks of up elevator. He asked if I wanted to fly it and of course I did so I did some circular patterns, inverted flight, immelman, loops, rolls, and then handed it back to have him check the slow flight characteristics. Since we did the cg the first time with a 1/2 tank of fuel, I redid the cg and now he thinks it needs about a 1/2 oz. on the tail, I'm pretty proud of myself since its my first plane. So I technically soloed, but only while it was in the air. I have only made one buddy box landing and it was a prop striker with no damage, but he says my takeoffs are perfect. Hopefully I will have my plane from start to finish this weekend, but it will be on the buddy box.

EXCELLENT Start. If you are doing those kinds of maneuvers, you should be fine to land as well. I suggest taking it up real high and deliberately slow it till it stalls, then recover and fly it at a speed JUST above that to get used to slow flight with it.

Then, LAND THE SUCKER and get your wings!

He's got me doing that on the club plane, I will start that this weekend with mine. I expect to be landing more than once this weekend.

I just dedicated my whole tank of fuel the last 3 times on the buddy box deal to learning smooth landings.
