ON THE HANGER 9 FUNTANAX 100 THE CONTROL THROWS LOW AND HI RATES ARE SHOWN IN DEGREES INSTEAD OF INCHES. I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THEM IN INCHES,IS THERE ANY WAY TO CONVERT OR DO ONE OF YOU FELLAS OUT THERE KNOW WHAT THEY ARE IN INCHES? I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE THEM IN INCHES. HI AND LOW RATES FOR ALL SURFACES. THANK YOU

I faced the same dilema when I bought a Funtana 90...

My suggestion would be to do what I did and bite the bullet for a meter as more model manufacturers are moving to degrees instead of inches, I've used it so much since the Funtana that I now have two of them...

Do you have a calculator with trig functions? Just take the dimension of the control surface, multiply by the sine of the angle. Put the stab or wing on a flat surface, measure up to the tip of the deflected control surface.

If the elevator measures 2.5 inches, and the spec is 17 degrees, put the elevator & stab on a flat surface. Measure up (sin 17 X 2.5 =) 0.73" to the bottom of the tip of the deflected elevator. Close enough for a Funtana, I'll bet. You'd probably round that one off to 3/4" anyway.

Good luck,
Dave Olson

High rate, as much as you can get.

Low rate, start at around 50 percent of that and adjust to suit.

as with any r/c model you should start with very low rate settings until you know how the model responds, remember this will be the models first flight and no doubt it will need some trimming here and there. set ailerons and elevators at 1/2 an inch each way and rudder can be whatever you want then go from there after a few flights.
