Status: offline 		What are my options here for the Four Star 40? It's a low wing plane, I'm using a deflector but all that's doing is deflecting it from spot to another on the wing and stabs.

I wish I could get the exhaust under the wing.

Can I take a tube, connect it to the exhaust and run it down to the landing gear arms and zip tie it there? It would be about 8" long or so, what is the disadvantage of doing this? if any.

Status: offline 		On my Dolphin (4 star copy)I use the Dubro extender (cut short) to deflect the exhaust mostly up and a little away; my fuel residue ends up just on the one side of the horizontal stab and toward the end of the fus, but not the wings.

Did you turn the rear half of the muffler so the exhaust port is facing up?

Status: offline 		We had a guy at the field put a dieisel in his 4*60. He ran an aluminum pipe all the way to the tail. That was with a diesel though. A four stroke will tolerate a long extention better than the two strokes. If you mess up the geometry of the two stroks exhaust very much, it really effects the performande. You could use a tuned pipe of you can fit it iin OK.

Bottom line though, I've never seen a plane that didn't cme back with some oil on it, somewhere. Other than electric and turbine engines.

Status: offline 		run a tune pip to past the aft end of the wing than put a deflector on that? lots of work expensive and a pain, on the other hand you could just clean the thing....
