I have a Hangar 9 Extra 260 with Hitec Digital Servos (HS5475HB) on the elevators (one on each side), when I plug them into the Y-connector and put that into the receiver, when you give any elevator input the elevators will act like ailerons (one will go up, one will go down)...They definitely are in the right spot in the receiver, every other input works fine, but this is getting frustrating....So when you give up (to climb) the left elevator will go up, and the right will go down (just an example), any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, and the radio is a Spektrum DX6i.

Also, what type of prop and glow plug would you recommend for a Moki 1.8? Thanks again everyone.

I may be missing something, but can you change where one of the elevator push rods attaches to the servo to the other arm on the servo?

You can turn one of the servos 180 degrees or jut move the push ron from the top to the bottom or vice versa on "one" of the servos

Hi pilot511,

Obviously I don't know what radio you have. If your radio permits plug one servo into the elevator and one into the gear or aux and slave to elevator via mix. I can't understand why running one push rod off the opposite side of the servo arm to where it is now won't see them both move in the same direction???

All of the above notwithstanding the servos have to be matched electronically and the controls matched mechanically.

Good luck,

Colin

Can you take some pictures?
Describe what you did to turn the servo around. Did you flip it over?
I've attached a crudely drawn picture showing what I would try. By removing the connector from one arm of the servo and attaching it to the other you are reversing the movement.
RCKen has some great graphics that show this better. Maybe he will see this and post them. I'll try searching for them in the meantime.

Since you are using Hitec digitals. Have you thought about buying or borrowing a programmer? Those servos can be reversed with the Hitec programmer. Your other choices would be. Programming the radio to drive them opposite directions or buying a reverse Y harness. The reverse Y would be my last choice but I don't know enough about your radio to tell you how to do it.

Why would a reverse y harness be your last choice? We were thinking about that last night actually.

I have owned two of them. First one worked for 5 minutes into the flight. Then one half of the elev started to change trim. The second one worked for 5 flights and was still working when I upgraded my TX. I gave it to a guy here on RCU. Have not heard of any trouble from it. I have however heard several stories here on RCU about the same problem mine had. I can tell you it's no fun to maiden your first 1/4 scale Suhkio with one elev half deflecting 10degrees more than the other. While I am sure there are guys that use them with zero problems. It would still be my last choice. I would move one servo opening up/down before I would use one.

Alright so I got a reverse Y, but then learned what my problem was I was trying to mix it into the gear, so once I mixed into the flaps it works great, dual rates work, everything is great, so going to return the reverse Y, and fly tomorrow...any pro suggestions? It has a 18x10 on it now.
