These have been out for a little while now and I have a co-worker that wants to sell me a NIB AX75. Said he'd let me have it for $125. I looked at it and it's never been used. (he needs tires........smiles)

For those of you who are using the AX series what's your general opinion?

I haven't bought a new OS engine in years.

Do you like the ABL "technology"....?

I’m not sure I like the way the muffler looks as it resembles the shape of my head…..

I have a friend that owns a 75AX. He raves about how great it is all the time. He owns mostly four strokes and is not mechanically inclined.

I fly with a person who owns a 120AX. He has had it since they came out. It is inverted in a UCD60. It has always performed very well. It is his favorite plane.

I don't think you'll find anyone complaining about the construction, quality or performance of the AX series.

It looks as if OS have got it right again (after the issues they had with the FX series).

I love them.

I've owned .46, .55, .75 and 1.20AX's.

They've all been supurb engines which start easily and run reliably. I'm so happy with their characteristics so they are the only engine i run these days. I've sold all of my 4-strokes and stick to AX's with one standard blend of fuel (5% nitro, 15% Synth, 3% Castor).

I probably won't buy the new .35AX as i have no models in that size range. I hoping they update the .91FX to an .9?AX to fill the gap between the .75 and 1.20. A .91 ported for torque like the AX's tend to be would be a great addition to the range.

P.S. My .75AX turned an APC 14x6 at 10,300 with the stock muffler. That's almost as good as the .91FX. I had it on a GP Super Skybolt and it was fantastic.

My AX .46 and AX .55 are becoming my favorite engines. I'm using Powermaster GMA 5% (messy stuff) and they both love it. My only criticism is the use of four head bolts instead of six. But, maybe my thinking is just old fashioned.

I can only vouch for the 1.20AX, 5 bolt head, it's a fine engine, I have SuperTigres with 4 bolt heads and Fox's with 8 bolt heads, neither has ever leaked or fallen off.

I've had 4 of the .46AX, 2 of the .55AX and a 1.20. They have to be the easiest to run and most reliable engines made. The new carbs on the .55, .75 & 1.20 are just fantastic. All the controls are on one side-easy to get to. Over a year's flying, I rarely have to adjust anything.

The .35AX seems a little pricey.

Yeh, go with it. Personally I think a 75 is a pointless engine but it allsounds good

Unless they don't replace the 91FX and just stick with the 75 and 120...

I love my 55ax, sounds like a scooter on light throttle but goes vertical for as long as I want on a 12x6 in my BH Super Air. Easy start, no messing with needles (once broken in and tuned), just go fly. Great engine.

Andy

I like the series. Well made, reliable, easy to start and gobs of torque.

I have the 46, and two 55s, with a 120 on the way for a Topflite 1/7 Mustang.

I bought the .75 and have bench run it only. I like it.

Now that the OS prices just went up I like it even more.

OS are good engines, I have several of all sizes. I would not own a 75 as with whats available, I think its a pointless size but thats me. It does sound like a good deal though

The price is right, you will enjoy it a lot. Dont worry about its size power, prop it for 12,000 and it will do as well as most 91 turning less.
