Status: offline 		we are working on a passenger terminal here in california at the old castle air force base. I was inside the building and ran as quick as i could outside as soon as i heard the whompin.

There it was, a converted to an infrared spotter for fighting forest fires. Painted red and white. SOOO Awesome. What a beautiful machine.

It came in twice for fuel today at the airport. As some of you might know, California has ALOT of forest burning right now. Our air in the valley has been HoRRible. This might be the worst ive ever seen it.

It got me thinkin about my heli. So at quitin time I pulled it out of the truck and gave it a whirl. Gotta Love It.

Status: offline 		Nice base my dad attended basic flight school there in 41', he was in one of the first classes held there.
I was at the "Flyout" of the B-52 bomber sqd back in about 95 when they began to deactivate the base.
Went to a flyin there some years ago and got a first hand look at a KC-97 tanker cutaway also the B-29 cockpit that were on display in the Museum.
I had a few friends that belonged to the EAA chapter 1401 in Merced, they have a builders hanger at Castle
You must live in the Merced/Ceres area
