Would anyone have a link to a tutorial on how to cover a blended tail such as this?

These tails look very similar to a a SIG J-3 Cub. I covered the veritcal fin and the top of the fuselage in one piece each side per SIG instructions. It wasn't easly but the results were fantastic. I used Oracote/Ultracoat and used a heat gun to soften the material while I stretched it.

Hi Flyer,

Yep, very similar to the J-3 tail. This one is a Citabria, and the one I am planning on building is a 1/2A size scale. I probably wont be using iron-on film, I'll have to use something a bit lighter like silkspan or the newer types of pre-filled tissue, so I wont be able to trust much shrinkage to handle it.

I remember somewhere there was a thread where it was a three or four piece affair to go about covering it, but RCU is so expansive now I cant find it or think of any search terms for it to come up.

The method is covered is Higley's "Tom's Techniques"; along with how to cover everything, including a tennis ball, and wing fillets.
