I am new to drifting and was wondering with the TA05, which is roughly $170 on tower (http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXTCR5&P=ML) , what more do I need to do to make it basically drift? I am just starting and I do not see a need to get the $400 setup as a beginner. Do I just need to get those drifting tires for $12 a set on tower?

Also, I see it has the 540 motor, is this motor much faster than the 27 turn motor on the hpi E10?

I must say, I already own the e-10 mustang and from all the post on 10 different forums I can't see anyone doing much to it or even talking much about it. That is stopping me from investing further into it to make it drift. People say it is okay, but where are the massive threads to it like all other drift cars out there???

That is why, I am looking at the TA05.?. Any feedback is welcomed...

Just slap some drift wheels on and your ready to go the motor should be ok but you can always add a lower turn motor in the future it depends on your ESC limits really.

Are you saying just put the wheels on the hpi e-10 or are you talking about the TA05 I was considering buying?

I think he's talking about the link you provided.
I must say, that's a nice body. Looks like that's my next one... My Enzo is going down

It looks like you can just drop some sushi's, or drift wheels of choice on, and go drifting...

But those tires look fine if you havea nice slick surface.

Yeh on about the TAO5 m8

A few friends bought the e10 as well lol i told them not too but well u know most have either bought TTs or TB drift editions now.
The ta-05 is a great car and is at home on a race track but will suffer with that belt setup on rough carparks as the belts will get chewed up i always advise to get propshaft driven tamiyas as they have instant torque upto beltdrives and dont suffer on the rough ground.

Maybe look at the TB-02d or hold out for the TB-03 when released it looks killer
Or cheap option TT-01D cheap drifts great built like a tank you can even rally them with the bathtub chassis

Thanks, I think the TT-01D may not be a bad ideal. The belt issue will be omitted and it seems like a good start, thanks!
