so as some of you know. im involved in a build/restore of an rc10gt... im wanting to make it race legal and needing some input

im leaning toward the o.s. .12tz but my options are open to just about anything.. i have about $300+/- to work with and not to picky on whats out there...

can anyone open my eyes to something different that i can do some research on... doesnt have to be o.s. and can be much cheaper the my price range.. im looking for the best bang for my buck... if there is a rad motor for $200 and something thats only a little bit better for ALOT more then i would obviously pick the cheaper motor and sped the rest of my cash on other parts....

remember, i need race legal! r.o.a.r!

thanks for the help
-rob

the best engine is a Trinity Draked .12 engine. They go for about $265.

Look at THIS one. New in box and a Trinity Draked .12 racing engine. Adam Drake made the specs for it.

i would go with either a red dot or a tz but i think you are going to have a hard time finding them in a short crank. The drake is a good motor for its time but they are not even made anymore so getting parts will be next to impossible cause their is not alot of them out their. I think you can find out what engines you can get in short shaft then make your list from their, but if you can find a tz short shaft buy it you will be very happy. The cv 18 you have is 32,000 rpm and 1.3 hp a tz 12 is 40,000 rpm and 1.5 hp a red dot is 37,000 rpm and 1.3 hp thier is plenty of power for those engines and your car.

As some of you know, I have a Trinity .12 but they say it has mid to top power, I got discouraged by that and really don't care to run it. I'll probably put it on the shelf to act as a statue.

Jared Tebo is a world class racer and he uses O.S. in his stadium trucks. I recommend O.S. not just because of Jared but also because they are not very expensive, plenty of performance, parts avaliable..

the problem still is.......... that is a sg crank and you need a standerd crank.look at what you can get in a standerd crank then choose from their.
