I have a new Saito 180 engine with a tank of fuel thru it on the test stand. I am using a 16x10 prop on it with 20% oil 15% nitro wildcat fuel.

What RPM should I be getting? I can not seem to get more than about 8300rpm

The bigger engines do not turn as much rpm as the small ones

A 16x8 would be more in line with that engines abilities.

My Saito 180 has about 9 gallons of fuel ran thru it, I have a 18x8w it turns 9300 rpm's.... Just keep it under 10K rpm's and you will be fine

mine has 10 gallons thru it and turns a 17x8 at 8600. your not that far out with a 10 pitch.when that 10 unloads in the air it will be fine, and you still have some leaning out to do , dont you?you should if you only have a tank through it.
