I jus finished building my Trex 600 . I took it out for a quick test using 2 3s 3300 zippy batterys that i use on my Hurricane 550. Those batteries are not going to cut it for this big bird. I was wonderng what others are using for batteries. I'd like to get 8 to 10 min doing basic flight, no 3D. I also want to keep cost as low as possible so I'm willing to go with discount brands if they perform well.

Probably should go to your local hobby store and see what they have. Usually they have some pretty good batteries for good deals. Also if they sell you a defective one/you need another battery you can get it right away without shipping cost/time

Local hobby shop carries almost nothing. The next closest is 1 1/2 hrs away and its prices are not better than what I've found on the net not by a long shot. I'll be ordering off the net somewhere.

I have been using Air Thunder 25C 6S 5000ma batteries with good luck. I also do not do "3D" flying. You can shop around on the internet and find them for about $240. I believe I bought the last one from Grand R/C.

These are supposed to be "no puff" batteries. I have only been using them since May so time will tell.

I have a 600e on order. For all the inital flights and testing, and more I plan to use the packs I have for my 500. I have Zippy and Max Amp packs in 6s 3000 and 6s 3300. I will rig them in parrallel to have 6s, 6000 mah and 6600 mah. I really hope that gives 8 minutes with the stock ESC & motor for basic flight, stall turns, loops, etc.

I did some more research and went with the Kong Power 5000 mah 6s. I should be able to get the 8- 10 min. sport fling times I'm after. I'll post my flight time battery consumption when I get a few flights in.

I use zippys in my Hurricane 550 2x3300. I may try them in the Trex at some point. The Kong 5000 mah was 279.99
