it wont be good because you cant change the charge current. And it is only good for lipo batteries that are under 1500mAh.

it is good 2-3 cell li-po balance charger, it only charges @50ma's...so larger mah pack's will just take longer, also a a/c power adaptor is extra, about $12.00

That pack wouldn't do you much good in any car. A crawler perhaps, but probably not even. The performance of a lipo pack is dependant upon a number of things, but you can easily tell the amount of amps it's rated at by looking for the current rating. Low quality packs have 15C, decent packs have 20C, and good packs have 25C, I've even seen some crazy expensive packs that are rated for 30C. What the "C" rating means is how many amps the pack can give. C is the capacity of the pack. So a 6000mah 20C pack can deliver 120 amps or 20 times C (it's capacity). So your pack with a capacity of 1290 mah even at 30C (which I highly doubt it is, most likely 15-20C) would only be able to deliver 39 amps. That is very low for a car and your performance would show that. Your pack would also get very hot since too much current is being drawn from it. That lipo might work okay in a crawler setup with a super high turn motor, but it won't work well at all in any other car you try. You'd be much better off with a cheap nimh pack. Also your pack would take 25 hours to charge using that charger, and I don't think it has peak detection so you might damage your pack by overcharging it. Good luck!

yeah lipo is amazing, but it's not cheap! There's loads of stuff you need for charging and maintaining a lipo battery. My setup is a converted computer powersupply to supply 12DC to my charger (cost for the supply $30), then my Duratrax ICE charger ($130), then my liposack (to contain any possible fires from a damaged lipo pack, $25), then a balancer to keep both the cells at the same voltage/condition and make the pack live longer ($25), and finally my lipo, 2S 5000mah 25C pack ($95). I didn't all buy it at once since that would give me a heart attack. This is by far not the cheapest way you can do things. For instance you can get an AC balancing charger for close to $60-80. Then if you charge outside in a contained area (like build your battery a house of bricks), you may choose to forgo the liposack. And then for lipos there's a lot of stuff out there for decent prices. In the end it can make sense, if you're dropping close to $200 on a brushless system, as more and more people are (all the VXl rusters and pedes!), then it makes sense to supply the power for the system with something that matches its performance. Also a lipo pack has a lot longer life span than a nimh pack so paying $50 for a nice nimh pack is not as good of an investment as $100 for a lipo. All things to consider. If it's something you want to do then you can expect to pay about $130 at least. Basically you get what you pay for usually, and that charger would work, but you would probably be happier with a set of good nimh bashing packs : ) Good luck!

you can get a dynamite vision peak ultra charger for $90. it has adjustable amps, but can only go upto 2.5 amps when charging lipos. good enough for me tho, my venom 3s 5400mah takes 2 hours.

If you already have a good power supply one of the best cost effective chargers out there is the Thunder Power TP610C, it can charge up to 6S lipos as 10amps. Basically it will charge any 3S lipo you can possibly run in a RC car in under an hour (based on 80% rule of usage).
