Hey guys I was wondering if I could do a quick paintjob over my body I have now. I really don't want to buy another shell for my brother. So I just plan on painting over part of the body. (to make it 2 tone)

Would the paint from a hobby shop work?

you CAN paint over your current job, but the paint will scratch, chip, fade..all that fun stuff.
