A guy at our field has a Ziroli P-38 (114" WS) and he seems to really like the plane and flying characteristics. I am seriously considering building a Yellow Aircraft P-38 which is a little smaller (100" WS) but I'm mainly interested in the Yellow since I've heard good things about their other warbirds and also their P-38 kit has a lot of pre-fabrication to hopefully save building time unlike Ziroli's.

Does anyone out there have any experience with the Yellow P-38? Your impressions of the kit quality, building ease and flying charateristics would be greately appreciated.

Thanks,

Matt

I have built one. The kit is nice and quite easy to build. I did have a good time with the inboard flap setup as it is real tight in there. and the nose strut was prone to bending. All and all I would give it a 9 for building quick and easy.

Flying I never did have problems as I was lucky enough not to have an engine out. Ran G38s.

Good Luck

I am currently building the Yellow P-38. Been working on it since October. Of course I primarily work on it on the weekends. Just need to install the main gear doors and linkage and pipe it then finish covering and final installation. Should only be another 4-5 months. But then again I'm covering with Flite-Metal. Like the above thread Everything went pretty smoothly except the center flap and the nose area. Just very little room to work and it's time consuming. Otherwise I think it's a great kit and am already thinking of buying another yellow warbird! You cna always pick up the Yellow P-38 ARF....

Good Luck!
