I just finished my Trex 600 E. I bought it as a combo kit, I figured if I got all the major components from a company like Align I’d be good to go. Now I’m seeing some posts about the XL motor having a very high failure rate. Anyone know anything about this?

Its just frustrating that no matter what company you go wimth in this hobby the one thing you can be sure of is that you will get screwed on something. We need more lawyers flying helis Maybe after a few good class action suits they would actualy test their products and or do recalls. I mean its getting bad when even companys that I've put fsith in for years like futaba screw things up. I have a T6EX that made it out of the plant with an error that can cause it to jump to a factory test setting so it could get interferance from another 2.4 ghz radio. Granted they are fixing these when you send them in but the thing never should have made ti off the factory floor, and it never should have made it from the vendor to me. I bet if Align had to pay for every crash thats been caused due to these motor issues we would see the last bad motor from them. Now I'll have to decide if I want to change fling it with the stock motor and risk problems or not fly it until I can afford an upgrade. Anyone know a good replacemnt for this motor. I'm not doing 3d so i dont need a power house but will need something thats not going to fall apart in flight. Would the z20 work?

When you consider the #'s of XL motors out there I am sure there will be a few that don't make it. After over 250 flights on my 600 I did have a shaft break off, I think I might have had the gear lash too tight. When I consider the problems with nitro and compare them to the problems of the Electric I will take the E hands down. After 30+ years of nitro I doubt I will go back. Auto is a fact of life with any heli set up, learn it. I have found though that E with it's problems is much more reliable than nitro.
