I struggled this morning to get my DPM Super Cub's OS-160 Gemini started. No life whatsoever. I figured my on-board EDR-103 glow system was screwed up since I was getting fuel OK. Just before I gave up I removed a glow plug and put my Hot Shot on it....no glow. I took the other out and tried it with the Hot Shot treatment....still no glow. WTH?!! I got out a new OS F and tried it - it lit up like a spot light. I installed two new OS F plugs in the OS-160, and started it with one flip. Now how in the heck can you get two glow plugs to be totally dead at the same time? This one's a puzzle.

maybe the on board glow system dicided to fry them with too much juice

Considering the circuit is a simple series circuit with two cells in series, it can't "decide to fry the plugs". The circuit is no different than a single plug and single cell. A more logical explanation for the failure is a lean run beating up both elements. There is only one carb on that engine so both cylinders would see similar conditions, and detonation is hard on plugs.

The only other logical explanation is that the glow battery was connected to a charger at high current while the glow driver was on. This could raise the voltage enough to blow the plugs. The recommend schematic allows for charging while the on board system is on.

Yep, that's where I saw the schematics.

The plugs are not in series. Not possible with a single ground. BTW it is possible to blow several light bulbs in series. I have seen this, they blow at the same time if you put two 12 V DC bulbs in series with a 120 Volt AC power source. Poof!

Perhaps you meant that the battery is not enough to fry the plugs. That is true without the engine running, but the battery plus the heat of combustion my be enough. Still I suspect your conclusion was correct.

Oops, this is what I actually looked at. The model number mentioned was the 103 not the 103M.
