I get 6-8 minutes in an e-maxx with the 4.5 geared very low.

Dude, his truck is not a rustler. Its an E-Maxx. Uses 2 packs. You need to read the first post before you post anything, and you need to learn your facts. And if you can not actually answer his question with some relevance, don't even bother posting.

Depends on your gearing and driving style, but somewhere between 6 to 10 minutes would be my guess. I only get about 12 minutes on my E-Maxx running the stock motors and two 4600 mAh 6 cell packs, but thats hard running in second gear most of the time. With two 3300 mAh packs, which arent that large of a capacity by today's standards, on such a powerful brushless system that draws alot of power, you are more likely to be getting lower runtimes, probably closer to what guver said, about 6 to 8 minutes. With the 6.5 system on the other hand, I would say runtimes closer to 10 minutes at the best. Also depends on your gearing, and your driving style.

Depends if u decide to run the packs in series or parallel too

lower voltage but double the runtime.

Actually the Novak HV Maxx systems are like the Traxxas EVX-2 ESC, as it has 2 plugs for 2 batteries, so there is no real series or parallel wiring to do.

But yes, you are correct in that wiring in parallel gives you the voltage of 1 pack but the punch of two, if you will.

no u can make a y harnes in parallel then plug into the one esc plug, and yes i know it has dual inputs.

Yes, you could do that, but you would then have to run 4 packs. Because wiring 2 packs in parallel on a Y harness would be like one 7 cell (8.4 volt pack) with 6600 mAh, and would plug it into one plug, but the HV Maxx ESC would not even know it was there really, and probably wouldn't turn on, because its not enough voltage/ So you would have to wire another 2 packs in parallel on a Y harness and plug it into the other plug for the ESC to have enough voltage running to it to turn on and run the motor. But it wouldn't be worth it to do that with Ni-MH packs because of how heavy they are. You would be better off just getting 2 high capacity Ni-MH or Li-Po packs and plugging each battery into the ESC.

you dont need to use both inputs.

Well, with an ESC that has 2 battery plugs, its really kinda pointless to only use one unless you are using a single large battery, like a 4S Li-Po.

ANYWAY, BACK ONTO THE RUNTIME SUBJECT. Lol.
