I'm thinking of buying a truggy in the 300 to 400 dollar price range and I just wanted to know which of these is better, the Raze or the ST-1. Also, any other suggestions for a decent truggy in this price range would be very helpful.

WOW have you not done your research? The TTR is on sale at A main for 244. Plus you can get a discount code to save even more money. The TTR is without a doubt the best truck you can get for the money. Its rock solid and I mean rock solid. This truggy takes way more of a beating than both my savages and my mgt. I think anyone that ownes one will agree how tough it really is. Not sure about the raze but duratrax is kinda iffy. They make some good trucks but then they make some crap also.

this is a no brainer!! TTR ST1.. not to say anything bad about the Durawhatever but the TTR ST1 is pretty much grandfathered in to the "Bang for you buck" hall of fame!

lol there is no more left. We are back to the $299 deal - another $25. Which is still a amazing deal. In comparison everything on the ST-1 is better then the duratrash.

st-1 all the one. i own one, and it is amazing. takes a beating like no other. you wont be dissappointed with it either. even the RTR version is like the pro version but with out the carbon fiber. plus spare parts for this thing are cheap!! so cheap that i haven't even bought any of them because i haven't broke anything on it. a 10 foot fall upside down from launching off a track barrier didn't even stop mine. oh yea, the body is kinda thin.

I was going through the same decision, looking for a truggy in the $300-$400 range. I ended up with a TTR ST-1 because of the amazing price at AMain, but I researched the other ones prior to my ST-1 purchase and for an entry-level truggy, all seem to be quite good. The Duratrax seems to be aimed more toward bashing than racing, but for having fun at the track, all should do fine. Here are the I looked into to offer you more choices:

Duratrax Raze ST (design-wise, very similar to the Ofna Mutilator, largest tires of these truggies)
Hot Bodies Lightning Stadium Sport (can be found new on ebay for $270 + $25sh)
Kyosho Inferno ST US Sports
Ofna Mutilator (design-wise, very similar to the Duratrax)
Tamiya Nitrage (discontinued so on clearance at Tamiya USA, but may be hard to find parts in the US, tho I find quite a few parts on ebay)
Thunder Tiger ST-1 (smallest of the truggies, but everyone says it's really tough)

For the price, the $300 ST-1 and $295 shipped HB LSS are the best deals.

You know what sucks with the HB is it doesn't have the 8mm stubs. nor is there CVD's throughout. Also the stock .26 is a force .26.
