Duratrax Piranha Charger question - 7/1/2008 4:49:41 AM

Status: online 		I just bought a Durtrax Piranha digital charger from lunchloxer. When I program it it does fine but in the top left hand corner where the amp rate should be, it is at 0.0 nomatter what amp rate i use. And since it only goes on .0 amps it takes 45 seconds to charge a mA!! (milliamp) So how can I fix this problem so I can charge faster? I love the features on this thing!! But the amp problem is really weird.

Status: online 		I don't want to spend $10 sending it to you or Tower. I only have like $10 left in my paypal account and $5 is going to nikg if I get the batteries by saturday. I emailed Duratrax and they told me to send it back but again I dont have the money!!!

Status: online 		lol this is funny. Your gonna have to send it to someone. That is weird, it is defective, i have messed with over 10 piranahs and none of them have done that.

Status: offline 		Yeah, that was my 2nd Piranha.. never had any problem.. it was my back up charger for my Triton 2 and Checkpoint 1030.. but like I said, I don't know how to help you if you can't send it back to me or Duratrax..

Status: online 		maybe I am missing somethihng. Because I put it on .1 amp the 1st time. I charged it all night and I got 824 mA so far. But it is charging at .0 amps. Do you have to save anything?

Status: offline 		0.1A is even too low for slow charge...

To be honest with you, that is like the weird problem I have ever heard... it sounds like everything else is working properly, it is charging (power supply working, all the electronic display, etc.) but somehow it is charging at 0.1A only..

Did you try to unplug it from the wall and and plug in and re-do the programming and re-start?!

Status: online 		what do you mean by restart? and yes I took it out and tried everything. It is weird how it says .0 amps but it is charging at .1.

Status: online 		I did that. Would DC current make a difference. Because when I put the alligator clips on my moms car when I put the last one on it sparked.
So where do I use DC current? It seems as if my car battery + and _ things are too big to put the clips on.

Status: offline 		It is normal to spark a little bit when you put it on..

You can clip on the screw / nut that clamp onto the battery terminal..
