If Heng Longs were model kits...
aka "this is how far you can easily disassemble a Heng Long Tiger 1"

Have attached a pic of my Initial Tiger project, one of the five tanks I bought recently from a guy who has switched hobbies (don't ask about the white, not even I know). Guards are off, bin is removed.

Anyway, its currently about as disassembled as its gonna get, I thought it would be a great time to take a pic before I get too far into it. Planning a Leningrad Tiger, definitely not "100" (overdone, really dislike the two side bins), I'm gonna do 111 or 112 (both lack bins altogether).

with all the conversions I have done, they may as well be kits. At least this way, you can assemble and modify the way you want...not what some Chinese toy maker dreamed up.

Whitewash

Yeah I know about whitewash, but I mean "dont ask" like "I dont know what he was thinking"

Found a great Russian book on Initital tigers, lots of paint schemes and photos of actual-initial Tigers, plenty I have never seen on the net before.

Is that the Initial Production Tiger book? Just wish I could more then some of the captions! Lots of great pics and drawings though! My favorite 502 Tiger is the #3 with gray coming through the whitewash kinda like tiger stripes.

Yep, Frontline illustration 2 (in Russian), at least most of the pics have english and russian text, just makes it easier. Sucks to see what the Russians did to 121 at Kubinka.

For those who havent seen "3" that swathy is referring to, here it is (just noticed thebronze asking halfway through my reply):
