Hi guys!

I'm looking into raising the return roller mounts on this tank as they are too low and it bugs me. I've not found an decent info on this however. There was a thread over on a german site here:

http://www.rc-panzerketten-forum.com/wbb2/thread.php?threadid=13087&threadview=0&hilight=&hilightuser=0&page=1

But the link no longer works. Has anyone got any numbers on this? I've done a search and read 3mm for the forward one and 4mm for the latter two but the poster was unsure.

Also, behind the standard rollers is small plastic cylinder that provides additional support for the axles. I'm worried that if I remove this to shift the mounts up, the axles will no longer be sufficiently supported. And suggestions?

I thought it was 3-4-4 too. Some guys use brass tubing and a piece of plastic to help reinforce them. Haven't done mine yet. One fellow said the rear idler should be raised slightly too.

Hi Panzerfaust
General opinions are 2,4,3 mm higher for the 1st 2nd and 3rd return rollers respectively.
Take a look here
http://www.rc-panzerketten-forum.com/wbb2/thread.php?threadid=7317&threadview=0&hilight=st%FCtzrollen&hilightuser=0&page=3
or you can make a search for Stützrollen through the PzIII sub-forum of Panzerketten.
Hope it helps
Jose

Maybe this will help. I didn't have a side view of HL PZIII to contrast the differences. Maybe someone has one and I could stitch pictures together?

Hi Panzerfaust77. I tried this mod using the general 2,4,3 mm raise front to rear, using thick plasticard to reinforce the hull inner. The plastic cylinder needs to be cut off.
One issue with the Hl PZIII is the height of the front sprocket and the rear idler, again too low. Another is the diameter of the rear idler, too small in my opinion. Raising the sprocket is difficult with standard gearboxes, but should be straightforward with low line gearboxes.
If I was to do this mod again I would certainly add at least another 1mm to the height of the rollers.
I've posted some pic's of my tank from May 2008 when I raised the rear roller...Let me know what you think.

Nick.
