How do I keep my slipper tight? I've tried a new nut and also blue loctite and it just won't stay tight. I'm thinking about red loctite but I really hate to use that stuff.
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

It may be time for a rebuild? No need for loctite on the slipper nut. It is a nylon lock nut. If your pads are severly worn you may be out of threads. Maybe try a glow plug washer?

double nut it lol. I use the blue locktite and it works, but putting a second nut on with the other one and locking them together is probably going to be your fix. Make sure you got the washers on correctly. They go on in a certain direction.

I would not use red loctite. Sometimes if you get the blue loctite on the the washer sides it can cause the whole thing to spin loose as one unit. Trick is to have the nut stay were its at on the threads and the rest slip.

Is there room to double nut? On mine I only have about 1.5 threads showing from the nut. I have never had any probs with my slipper.

I started having the issues hes having when I went to a big block. It really puts stress on things with a ton of power. If you go to the hardware store you can find two nuts with no plastic in them. The orginal just take off and save it. You will have more room with the new thiner nut and the new one will fit on then with no problem. Since your locking them together after you get a good adjustment, you dont need the plastic anymore. Use blue loctite on the double nuts to be sure and I bet it wont come loose now
