In the world of RTR OFNA truggies, how do the mutilator, hyper st, and jammin x1 crt compare? They all have different engines from what I saw on their website, but overall what are the biggest differences and characterstics of these?

well 2 are junk..ahahaha..but all of them are suitable for Canada..i'm joking..
Out of the three the Jammin was supposedly designed for racing, Theirs a lot of "love" on this board for the Hyper..but in all reality it does not do that well here in the States on the big supercross style tracks, The Mutilator shares parts with both the CRT and Hyper..all in all the OFNA'S are tough, i think that theirs better truggies for the money..but thats just an opinion..but all i do is race and at the tracks i race at any of the three will not get it done..

The Hyper is shorter and narrower..does well on smaller more technical type of tracks..even with the big bores the suspension will be taxed on blown out tracks..shocks do heat up..
Jammin CRT..longer, wider..and a bit on the heavy side..does well on more open, blown out..big jump tracks..
Ofna Mutilator's..shares the basic suspension as the CRT..it was first introduced as more of a basher than a racer..

Hahahahaha!...sorry, that was funny.

I have no experience with any truggies (waiting for my first one, a TTR ST-1, to arrive), so I can't offer much help. There's quite a bit of price difference between the 3 Ofnas, so that may help your decision making. I have no idea what the differences are in truggy designs, what makes one better and more "race" oriented while others are not, the diffs between 1st gen and 2nd gen truggies (a note I see often made regarding Hot Bodies Lightning truggies), etc.

Dang! What tracks do you drive at? I've seen all those trucks manage at Revelation even with the crazy jumps. Of course there's a Kyosho STRR that always manages to finish when Ryan Lutz is driving! no seriously I own a Hyper and I cannot complaint about it as far as durability. Yes its a bit heavy but it handles great. I'm still breaking in my picco engine so I havent had a chance to race it much. I've driven a full size Jammin CRT and its good too. I haven't got a chance to drive the mutilator but I know DJ from ofna races that thing stock. I'm still waiting to try an STRR . Like you mentioned the Jammin CRT and Mutilator are very close to each other and most parts are interchangeable between all 3. It depends what you want to do with them. So why do people change over from the Mugen and Losi trucks to a Hyper st? I still dont know why.

I have been known to race at Revelations and to tell you the truth I know of 2 Hypers that do well their..Both belong to Team drivers..and if you really look at the "Hypers" they drive you wont see much resemblance to your Hyper..To be honest I cant remember ever seeing a Mutilator racing at Revelations..but then again I just follow the Sportsman and Pro classes their..Most of the guys that run in the top are not using Hypers or stock CRT's..To those that dont know..The Sportsman class at Revelations is fast..Most of the guys that run in this class would run Pro at other tracks..The Top pros in the country race at this track a lot..Drake, Kortz, Hughes, Lutz, Bradley, King, Truhe, Mayfield..and a bunch more..I race an ST-RR and at Revalations it's not really the Truggy to have..tracks that have low traction dont seem to be good tracks for the Kyosho..I have mine working but not as good as some of the real fast guys..

i went down there to run this track with saxton and some buddies. really is a hard track. i ran my eight b and my jammin crt with full bce 16 mm shock and everything setup by saxton. still a very hard place to run. i even ran sportmans and those guys already know how to drive. lol
