First I have a tmaxx 2.5

First question - the carb fell off today. I dont think its broke but i was wondering if it has a screw that holds it in place or is it just a puch fit?

Second - What is a good setting to a good tuned truck or atleast a good base line to start with im not sure if their are different settings for different types of trucks

Third - my reverse isnt working if i switch it into reverse i get a grind like the gears are stripped but then it doesnt want to switch back into forward unless i stand it on it nose and tap it . It started doing it when i let a friend runn it < i know big mistake letting a novice runn it> and he got it stuck and switched it into reverse and hit full throttle

Apperciate any help

There is a bolt that hold the carb in place, this is the only picture of a 2.5 engine facing the right way... the bolt is circled in red

For tuning it depends on your weather, you can reset your needles back to factory and retune, HSN 4 turns from closed, LSN flush with the inner ring, Idle screw, if you take off the air filter and get a small zip tie adjust the idle screw until the zip tie can barely fir in the opening, no throttle...

For the tranny it sounds like you might have to take it out and see if the gears are stripped, when you shift is the servo moving the little pin going into the tranny?

Yes cmerritt is right, make sure the low speed needle is flush with the steel ring around the needle, my brother's wouldn't run at 4 turns but mine was way rich at anything more than 3 3/4 turn on the high speed needle.

I think you might need to take the tranny out and see if anything is stripped.... Good luck!

That is not my engine, that is the only picture that I could find online of a 2.5 facing the right direction! LOL
