Ok, I got a couple bodies and painted them. They look ok, not great. Now, after I did the drilling and cutting they look like junk Anyone know where I could get painted, cut and drilled bodies to fit on a Nitro 4-tec. I'm not looking for anything crazy, just something different from stock.

Thanks,
Brent

I was in your boat not too long ago. Blew a bunch of money on some sweet Tamiya pre-painted bodies (Tamiya & HPI I think are the best pre-painted). I was tired of messing up my bodies. I felt the how tos on You Tube were of little help. I just took what everyone says to heart and it works...right tools - lexan scissors...good masking tape or parma masks (which I use now)...no crap tape...press the tape/mask on hard...if you overlap any masks...make sure the "joint" is pressed down firmly so no paint so seep under. I've found that painting immediately after applying the masks with overlaps is best. A good airbrush is best for beginners too. Forget the enaml crap...including the stuff from Pactra everyone recomends. Stick with non-toxic acrtlic and coat it with some Faskoat. With acrylics you can correct any runs or mistakes with alcohol and Q-tips or towels. Enamel once its on its on. The take your time part is a must too. I actually do about 4-5 very light coats with my airsbrush. I wait 2 hours between coats and overnight between colors or removing masks. Seems to be doing the trick...I haven't had any bog distasters since my first few attempts. Start drinking coke by the 2 liter also. Cut the empty bottle in half and practice practice practice. I crush the bottle up a bit and try to keep a strip of tape intact. It helped. Good luck. I feel your pain. The only problem I have now is cutting the bodies. My eyes keep losing the indented line when I'm cutting! Thats just my eyes getting bad though!

Get a pair of curved lexan scissors and a good two-flute hole reamer and you'll be in business.

Also, trim and ream your bodies before you paint. I always mark and drill my body mount holes/exhaust stinger holes/antenna holes and cut out the wheelwells and everything before painting. Use a sharpie, and mark on the body on the outside where the protective film is.

Good luck!
