hey guys,
Its me again. This time i was wondering what the best site was to buy a new 11.1 Volt 1500 mAh
Lithium Polymer Battery Pack with a deans conector. Mine over heated and the top lipo cell expanded and it
obviously wont charge. Any info on this subject will be much apreshiated.
Thanks again,

After reading this thread back in the beginning of July, I ordered 2 of the dealextream batteries and they showed up today (took 2-1/2 weeks to arrive but were only $15 ea w/free shipping from China). They work great however I did have to break out the soldering iron to complete the circuit through the individual cells on one of them. I don't think "Quality Control" translates into any Chinese words..

The batteries are "Mystery" brand and seem to have a more consistent power over the stock esky 1000mah (Yes, I know they are 1500mah vs 1000mah) and they are withing mm of the same size. They lasted about 12-14 min in light flying this evening.

If you are willing to wait, they are a great buy. Oh, and they didn't come with deans connectors so you will have to get those as well.

Hobbycity have tons of cheap but good Lipo. Of course quality control won't be that good when comes to Chinese product, if not you will be paying for a higher price and thats wat most of us trying to avoid.

I got this 1800mah E-sky high-discharge battery: http://www.ushobbysupply.com/product_info.php?cPath=25&products_id=634&osCsid=8a75fc935363757c3063020130d54fb0 Not the cheapest in the world at $39 but it works great and I've never seen it get even warm to the touch... After flying, after charging, anytime...

Well next time I will spend the extra money. Consider this a lesson learned...

Here is why. As I mentioned above I had to complete one of the connections on the pc board on the battery to get a completed +/- circuit. That was issue number one.

I charged the battery fine after fixing this and used it last night and then let it set over night while I charged another battery. Here is issue number 2 - This morning I went to charge it and I get the red and green lights blinking together. Not good. The charger is the std 800mah esky balance charger and so the batteries have only been charged using this balance charger.

When I check the voltage of the cells, one cell is over 4v and the other 2 are around 2.5v. Has anybody ever heard of the cells discharging at diff. rates? Can I charge each cell individually at a very low mah to get them back up above 3.3v minimum?

Sounds like the balanced charger isn't balancing very well, or the 4V cell isn't connected to the output terminal? When I got the bigger 1800mah bettery, I replaced the stock E-sky charger with this Align one: http://www.ushobbysupply.com/product_info.php?cPath=57&products_id=403&osCsid=8a75fc935363757c3063020130d54fb0 for $43. (Michael said it would work just as well as the more expensive $52 one).

So far, it has worked great - charging the 1800mah batteries in around an hour. The ONLY problem I have with it is that I'm red/green color blind - so have a hard time intrepreting the lights. They seem to turn red when the battery is first plugged in, but then eventually turn green when the battery is charged. I can only notice this as a change in brightness (green shows up slightly brighter).

Wow. 1 hour recharge. it usually takes 2-1/2 to 3 hours to charge the 1000mah battery using the stock esky charger.

I will have to look into a new charger soon. for now, I'm stuck with what I got.

I don't think my problem is the charger because it wont even let me charge this pack. The center cell has almost no voltage. It's sitting outside right now with a 4.8V @.5mah chager connected to just the one cell. I'll see if I can get it to charge. The other two cells seem to be fine now. One is about 4v and the other is about 3.5v. If I can get the center cell up above 3.3v, I will see if the balance charger will do its magic.

I get the impression that the stock charger isn't very good - and maybe you even have a "bad one" of those? Suggest a better charger a.s.a.p.!

Good luck!

My stock charger took about 2-3 hours to charge a 1500c. Got the Polycharge 4 and now only takes an hour to charge any battery as the input is adjustable.
