I just got a tmaxx 3.3 the other day. I want to stock up on a couple things in case they break. What would you guys recommend I get stocked up on so I don't have to end my day of fun early???
Thanks
Eric

i would say,,a-arms,, bulk heads would be one of the first things to break if you were to hit something like a curb head on.. you should also have a couple extra glow plugs on hand.. if the truck is brand new usually after the break in [5th tank] you need to replace it.. then sometimes if you dont have it tuned properly you can burn them up pretty fast..

if tuned right you will get lots of time out of them.. others may chime in on what you need to have on hand but you shouldnt need much.. they are pretty decent trucks and well built...have fun man,,i would also invest in a roll cage or what i prefer is a tail wing.. it will help protect the engine on tip overs and crashes.. until you get the wing get a cooling head protector for like 3 bucks.. it is that little round plastic part that is on top of the engine.. i rolled my truck a few times and noticed that it was cracking.. but once the wing was installed that took care of the engine getting ruffed up. jake

He got it right^^ A-arms, bulkheads, and I bent a pile of turnbuckles on mine. I would suggest getting alum front bulks from the start. They are the only plastic part I would recommend swapping for alum on the Maxx...

I just broke my nitro tank tonight so add that to the list. That was because I did like four flips after jumping. Completely my fault! And wheely bar wheels.

I would say Jake had it right on in saying the bulkheads, a-arms, and yes, its defiinately a good idea to have extra plugs on hand, because if its still rich from the break-in

Just a heads up. Check what RPM has for the truck before you stock up. Instead of buying 2 or 3 spare sets of arms, buy 1 set of RPM arms, and don't worry about them

What will break first depends on your driving style. Look at your other vehicles and what broke on those. If you stripped spur gears, you probably aren't very good at setting gear mesh and should pick up a couple extra of those. If you hit something at an angle such as a curb where you usually bash and strip a servo horn, upgrade it or pick up extras. It all depends on your driving style.

When I had my evader I had bad tires on the rear and I fishtailed into the curb a lot so I had to stock up on rear hub carriers. On my vendetta I have one of the most powerful brushless systems you can get and I have to stock up on drivetrain parts.

You can't point to a particular part that WILL break first. Sometimes there is a design flaw, but from what I heard there isn't much of one on the t-maxx. Some people will go through 15 a-arms and some will have the stock work for them until the day they stop running the truck. I'll stop my rant here.

Alot of guys will tell you a-arms and bulkheads. If you use RPM a-arms, you'll be good for YEARS. I also recommend titanium hinge pins. I used to break bulkheads alot until I got RPM skid/wear plates 5 years ago. Make sure your bumper brackets aren't too tight on the bulkhead. A little pivot room is good for big crashes. I haven't broken anything from crashing in a long time and I truly drive like an idiot. Stuff does wear out though.
