Hi Everybody,
Can anyone tell me about this plane? "GWS Big Tiger Moth Park Flyer" I want to move up from an Easystar and I love biplanes. I have flown my Easystar many times and now want something with ailerons.
Thanks for your help.
Truman

Hi Truman,
I have both the ES and the TM400. I wouldn't necessarily call the TM400 an aileron trainer, as it isn't super durable. However, it flies very nicely and looks great in the air. I think that for your "aileron trainer", you might want to look at something a little more durable, like:

WingDragon 4 or BeginAir (This was my aileron trainer)
Mountain Models Magpie (Can get it with both the 3 channel and 4 channel wing)
Multiplex Minimag
GWS E-Starter

Here are some links regarding the TM400 and WingDragon/BeginAir:

My small TM400 build and maiden thread

Great thread on WingDragon/BeginAir

My reasons for suggesting the BeginAir over the TM400 as an aileron trainer:

1. More durable. The pod of mine survived 2 heavy nose in crashes with just minor wrinkles in the plastic.
2. The pusher type, high mounted motor keeps it out of harms way in nose in crashes.
3. The landing gear can quickly be removed to make the plane a good belly lander, if you don't have a landing strip. The prop is out of the way of the ground as well.
4. The plane is very tolerant of multiple battery types and their effects on the center of gravity. The TM400 is much more sensitive to COG changes from different batteries.
5. The BeginAir can use the same batteries as your EasyStar.
6. Replacement parts are easy to obtain, and relatively inexpensive.

Hope this helps!

BTW, I assume that since you are looking at a TM400, you already have a decent radio, and don't want an RTF, correct?

IF so, and you are looking for a good aileron trainer that you won't be too worried about crashing, I have been trying to sell my BeginAir to make room in my garage, as I rarely fly it anymore. It has already been converted to brushless, and all you need is a radio, receiver, and battery. $60 shipping included. (CONUS)
