i was driving my buggy in an open parking lot tonight getting her tuned for an upcoming race. well after about 3 tanks i pull her in and go to shut her off. i do what i usually do, grab it by the wing and lift it up while the front tires are still on the ground and stick the toe of my shoe into the flywheel. well i think i was pretty much holding it upside down when i got it shut off. i set it down pack up all my stuff then pick it up to put it in my car when i noticed something on the bottom. looked like fuel. also when i pick it up some fuel falls onto the ground. so i take off my body and theres fuel all on the inside. i look at the air filter and it seems fuel came out of my air filter. long story short, do you think it was from the way i shut it off?

after i noticed this i put some fuel in her and she started right up and ran fine. i think the fuel from inside the motor came out the carburator when i shut it off.

dont be foolish. If that much fuel came from your front bearing the engine wouldnt even run.

And I think its highly unlikely fuel woudl "pour' out the carb.

Your tank is probably cracked or messed up.

tank cant be cracked. i didnt crash or anything and i check the take for leaks last week. i can see where it came out from the air filter. the only other thing i can think of is the top wasnt all the way on the tank.

Why not just pinch the fuel line if your shutting it down?

Check the tank lid seal, and the lines for leaks. I had a tank seal start leaking and it was giving me a lot of headache.

I too would look at the tank, I had one start to leak at the seam, and I didnt crash either, yet it still ran ok.

blocking the stinger works best for me, you shut it down rich if you want to start it again.

probly the cap because if it was THAT rich it wouldnt run. but it can be that you have a pinhole leak BY the filter.

But if hes grabbing it by the wing, how would the fuel from the tank leak over to the carb when the carb is at a higher level. Things dont flow upwards people!

Unless you grabbed your buggy by the front.

Check the fuel lines.
Tank might not have closed completely during the run.
But if the fuel was coming from a specific point then i would check the fuel lines for cuts-leaks.

took the buggy apart and cleaned it and checked everything. everything looks good, no leaks in the tank or fuel lines. motor is fine, carb is fine. ive come to the comclusion that the tank lid was not on completely. ive had problems with the lid not shutting all the way. gonna have to make sure i push the lid down everytime i put fuel in it(better tell my pit man!)
