Ok my qustion is this, If I use the copterx head on my king but go with the microheli swash and washout, is there any reason why that wont work. that way I don't have to build a custom anti rotation bracket, and I can still use the microheli stuffs that I allready have, I just really like the look of the CopterX stuff. and I have heard that it performs really well too. I also like the underslung flybar.

It would work but after the cost of a microheli swash and the head, you could have a head that uses the best 7075 aluminum for about $90.00 after coupon.....And it is King specific!! King 2 CNC head. CopterX heads use the softer aluminum and can/will damage easier. MR. 53Willys just crashed his new CNC head from 30-40' at full throttle upside-down(posthole digger style) and his head didnt break or bend... If you prefer the under-the-blade style fly-bar like a Trex and CopterX, then go to the same site listed on the link above and buy the HDX 450 with a type B swash. Drops right in.....7075 aluminum. If you have not seen my little slide show of this head, go to CNC head video

Peace,

Z

The copter X head is VERY strong........And I havn't seen any place that says it's not a high quality aluminum. I have crashed it and slambed it into the ground and never bent a single part besides the main shaft. I also use Fiber glass blades. You will break the frame , strip out the main gear ,bend the main shaft and strip out all your cyclic servos befor damaging the Copter X head. And if you do manage to damage the head you can go to a local LHS and get Trex 450 parts to fit the copter X head, but have to order replacment parts on line for the CNC HBK2 head. And I'm not trying to bash the new HBK2 head, it looks like a real nice peice, but have a hard time beleiving it is worth twice the price of a copter x head. And if you dont want to build an anti rotation bracket you can use other swashes ,I have used a E flite B400 swash ,just had to change the balls to larger ones.

...After installing Micro-heli swash, its about the same price, and you have 7075 aluminum with the HDX systems. I was told that CopterX heads are only 6061(much softer). I also suggested the HDX head which is fully TRex compatible, and for $90.00 with a coupon IMO it's worth the extra cash for the 7075. I believe you that the CopterX head is strong but upgrading to an aluminum that is softer than the Esky purple stuff(6063) seems wrong to me after i researched heads. Not trying to talk anyone out of anything though, I just could not be happier with the quality of machining, the components and the strength. The swash on these heads are more or less the same as Micro-heli swashes, made with the same components and metal only from a contracted source.

Also, Jeff at cncheli has shipped both my orders on the same day I ordered them. 2 days and they were here. I ordered once more Wednesday and expect the parts to be here by Friday. This is killer service. Just don't try to understand his English on the phone....

Thanks, See I allready have the microheli swash and washout assembly. and I really do like the copterx stuff. I have looked at the new cnc king2 head, and I really like it other than the over the blade flybar, but I just don't see spending the money. when I can get a complete copterx head and have a spare washout, as well as a swash. that I can probebly ebay off for a good price. and almost pay for the head. I think that's what I am going to do anyone want a copterx swash and washout for $25???

Optimus I just put the entire Copter X head on my K2 today swashplate up, now it was modified by using Belt CP swashplate balls and anti rotation bar. I did not have to modify the anti rotation bracket, but I'm using 288mm CF blades, LHS didn't have 275mm. I did have to grind a little off K2 mainshaft for bolt hole to lign up w/ washout hole. It can be done, thats why I like this forum and the input from Z and others Blk, crshcrsh, Druss, Nuttcaze the list goes on

...I love the comment that Finless has in his signature..." I am not here to tell you what to buy, just to help you with what you already bought". Or something like that....I try and be the same way. I realize that many of us(me) just like to rave about the things we have that make us happy and work for us. If you bought a pile of dog sh*t and wanted to use it as a tail servo, I just might try and tell you how to make it work!! LMAO!!
