I put in steel diff gears on my propulse and...broke the screw inside right in half! Check out the pics! This was after 2 runs.

Any suggestions on how to get the screw out and fix this from happening again?

that is very very hard to see but just get a dremel and make ur own flat head screw driver hole and just screw it rite out, im thinking ur diff was too tight and i've said this b4 but, don't just get like aluminumn and aluminm.... get 1 plastic and 1 aluminum, or just both plastic!!!! i don't get how these companies try to sell these steel on steel gears that just wear out 3 times as fast!!!!! my steel spur gear on my 18t ran out in like 7 runs and that wasn't even pushing in.... know i've got plastic and it's lasting a lllooonnnggg time as long as i keep it up in shape

My plastic gears lasted three runs and I don't bash my cars. I'm not even running brushless.

Can't floor it fowards and backwards because my esc is only foward and break Probably too tight but I find I lose a lot of power when they aren tight.

HI guys just a few thoughts i thought i would share

I could certainly be wrong but those diff gears look like aluminum to me but the pic is very fuzzy and so hard to tell..... aluminum is not a great material for gears as it wears very quikly. exspecially if the mesh is not 100% correctly adjusted. The only company i am aware of that makes the steel gears is the toyz and although steel wear like any other metal it is the hardest material, slowest wearing, and best option for any high powered rc18 or look alike. when desideing on gear materials it is important to remember you need to use the same material for both gears other wise you will have tons off wearing issues! the harder material will destroy the softer in no time when you are doing these type of rpms expesiallyif you are running a high kv or 3 cell bl.... delrin on delrin is a excellent choice as it is extremely strong and self lubricating as well, it just "slips and wears" very well with steel being the best combination although not warrented unless you are running a high powered system as this will increase rotating inertia!

the diff bolt looks like it is aluminum as well so if it was even slightly overtightened that is the reason it snapped.... i would replace it with a stock steel diff bolt and you will be fine... i ru a 3cell bl tek18 with mip diffs, toyz steel gears, and it works like a dream... strong as hell.... i would venture tosay the diff combo i run is near bullet proof!

just my 2 cents
Hope this helps

Heath

the mip super diffs are nuts, add a little weight but heck, it should prevent that from happening, also be a little "gentle" on the throt as well as maybe carbide diff balls to finish it off , now it should be totally bulletproof, sounds like a rocket
