well u can get the "new" version of the 3.3 tmaxx for 399 (the one without reverse and optidrive, etc etc) and imo, if it were me, I would stick with the one that has reverse(aka the "older" version)...

I would get the new one, it is much more durable and I am sure if you really wanted reverse you could find a way to put it in, the new one is a much better deal IMO

Well just because u have not had good luck with the reverse on ur tmaxx, does not mean someone else will have the same bad luck, it could work out just fine for them....

My friend just got a revo and it would just go into reverse when he was going. Sounded bad and he ended up getting rid of reverse. And how important is reverse really.

Reverse on the t-maxx is much less reliable than the revo reverse. That why just about everyone with a 1.5 or 2.5 t-maxx gets rid of it. I still saved myself the trouble and put a FOC on my Revo

well i can tell you that beside not having a reverse that the new tmaxx doesnt come with a charger.. so you will need that too unless you already have one.. traxxas sells a nice one for around 30 bucks and then you will also need the ac adapter for around 15.. i saw a charger [traxxas] complete on sale on the for sale forums for 20 bucks..

i got the new version and it has a few upgrades over the old one,,, bigger tires,, better exhaust pipe, and a few other things too. when i mess with the truck in my backyard i need the reverse,,but out in the open you should never need it. i am not sure if the older version comes with a charger either..

but most of the times with newer versions they usually are better.. [most of the times].. my vote would to get the new one.. i like it. jake.
