What size cells are in the super cub? I looked in at least a dozen threads and couldn't find it.
2/3A?

Can you drop sub-c size in this thing or is that way too big?
Thanks

Yes, they are 2/3 A size cells. Sub-C would be really heavy, and I doubt you would be able to fit them in the compartment. I would think your CG would be way off if you were able to cram Sub-C cells in there.

OK. Would the Tenergy brand cells be sufficient for this application? Tenergy sub-c cells get lukewarm reception among RC truck drivers. How are their 2/3A cells? As good or better than the stock stuff that comes with the Super Cub?

I've run the cheapbatterypacks 2/3a cells in my SC and they work great. I run the 1500may 8 cell. They custom make them to order with the requested style of plug and wire size. I request 18 guage as it is is not too thick to coil into the battery bay.

How about some loose cell recommendations? I don't mind building the packs as I have built many for my trucks. Any decent bargains out there?

Also, how much current does the Super Cub pull? Maybe 10A? Don't really need incredibly heavy duty batteries, right?

I tested my stock SC on the bench at 8-9 amp WOT. It peaked at about 10-11 upon throttle up.
