Hey all, can anyone here explain how to setup the tail servo and gyro on a blade 400? I started by centering the servo electronically, and then hooking up the gyro. It seems like the gyro is doing what it's supposed to do as far as correcting the yaw of the heli, but...

...wht does the servo act all funny? Its like the servo's response to stick input is no longer linear, and the end-points are all screwy now. Also, the servo moves veeerrrryyy sllooowwwwllllyyy when I move the stick. How do I fix this, anyone?

Are you in rate or HH mode?

Well, let's make sure I understand the operation of the gyro correctly. 50 or less is rate mode, anything above 50 is considered HH, correct? But it acts the same at 50 or 60 or whatever.

I believe on the G110 that you are correct. The servo will always act a little different than you think it should in HH mode. Lower the gain below the 50 percent mark and it should act like there is no gyro and like you connected the tail servo right to the rudder channel. But it won't hold as good in rate mode. Rate mode is used to set up the tail servo. Then go to HH mode when flying.

OK guys, I think I'm getting the hang of it. Did OK on my 3rd battery this afternoon, managed to at least pretend I could hover

I think its just going to take time and tweaking on my part to get this little heli dialed in properly. I get the gut feeling that the worst crashes happen only after you have the bird tuned to perfection!
