Status: offline 		Lately when I have a less than soft landing with my Blade CX2 I have to take off the canopy and slide the swash plate back up on the main shaft. There is nothing I can see to keep it up snug. Is the upper shaft retaining collar supposed to be up snug against the lower swashplate?? My retaining collar is down snug against the main frame. It looks to me if it were snug up agains the lower swashplate, it could hinder the movement of it??
Am I missing a screw or does the outer shaft retaining collar hold up the lower swash plate snugly? I have a quarter inch gap between my lower swashplate and the outer shaft retaining colar! HELP? Please...

Status: offline 		The quarter inch gap between the swash plate and the outer shaft retaining collar is normal. I believe that the swash plate is held up by its links to the lower rotor head. Is the screw that secures the lower rotor head to the outer shaft OK?

I believe you are having the same problem I had some time ago. First to answer some of your questions. No! the main shaft retaining ring is not supposed to come up near the swashplate. The swashplate is held up by two things, the linkage arms to your bottom blades and the servo arms that actually make it move. I "believe" you are suffering from swashplate separtation! This where the TOP of the swashplate stays connected to the lower blades and the BOTTOM part of the swashplate stays connected to the servo arms ACCEPT when with a hard landing they separate!! The top of the swashplate and bottom are fitted together from the factory with a crappy flaired plastic collar. Once you take it off you will see where the top fits down into the bottom with a flared out piece to hold them together. That wears out! they come apart under hard flying or a hard landing then you see that piece hanging low towards to main shaft collar ring and have to slide it up, ya godd a trust me on this. Check out your heli on what I have explained for you and let me know. I see a new swashplate in your future LOL.

Status: offline 		I have had success using a very SMALL amount of ca glue to hold the swashplate together after it separates until I can get a replacement. Be careful not to get any into the bearing.

Replacing it is the real solution.

Glad you found the problem as discussed. Go to your (LHS) local hobby shop and buy one for $6.99 or any website of your choice. I have a placed one site below to show you what your looking for and the part numbers. I "don't" recommend you buy an aluminum one "unless" you want to have shorter fly times. The more aluminum bing or needed parts you put on, then the Heli becomes heavier and thus shorter fly times. I have only had this happen once and my friend once, and both were from crashing often when I was a newbee. Hang in there!

Status: offline 		You will be taking the heli 90% apart!

Get your hand book out and look at the last page to become familure with all of the parts in the blow up.

1. Pull off the body.
2. pop off the servo push rod arms that are connected to the swash plate.
3. next disconnect the flat swashplate arms from the swash plate that go up the lower blades and lower rotor post.
4. take the 2 allen screws out of the upper rotor head blade holder (located under the blades) * don't drop them they are small* then with a little pressure slide them up and off the post and set aside.
5. slide off the bearing holder sitting on top of the shaft with a little tug.
6. now take the 4 allen screws out of the lower rotor post. then that rotor post should slide all the way up! and off the shaft. now the screws will have left some ridges on the shaft so sometimes you may have sand them off FIRST (just a bit) or give a reasonable tug to get past them.
7. Now your swashplate is ready to slide off and replace.

********************note when you pull off the top rotor post that the little shaft in the center has a FLAT spot which you will need to catch with the screw when you reassemble!**********

I just got back to check on you, 2:00 p.m. California. I did however forget to mention to you that after you have done everything I suggested just before lifting the swash off the heli you must CAREFULLY pull back the vertical plastic hoop that the swashplate rear pin sits in. Just slide the swash up to the top, then gently pull it back and slide the up another 1/4" and then let the hoop come back.
