Hello,

I'm wondering if it is better to mount the servos with or without rubber grommets on "L" shapped servo mounts, looks like they mount it without but I can't find any good reason, any tips?

Thanks
Florent

I never use the rubber grommets. I use screws, washers & nuts.
There is not the same level of vibration with jets compared with prop planes.

Hi

The vibration level in turbines is almost zero. So, no need for rubber grommets. On the other hand, you get a more direct control and avoid flutter.

The downside is that you have to be carefull on taxing specially with elevators that do not have the shaft in their own CG. Avoid bumps

Just watch out with some of these chinese bits of angle aluminium
Some of them can be as soft as cheese, threads easily stripped.
But you could always drill out a clearance hole and put a nyloc nut on the other side I suppose.

I prefer the black glass/carbon impregenated nylon brackets from BVM or TAMs
You can do the self tapping screws up like a gorilla and they don't strip.
