Just wondering if anyone has built a test stand for a gas engine.I bought a 26cc CRRC engine and want to break it in on a test stand. I would like to see some examples of test stands....Thanks

Do a search of the forum, you'll get lots of pictures.

Gas engines shake more than the little nitro engine, for that reason it's not considered a good practice to run them on a test stand. You would be better off mounting it in your plane and running it, they are much cleaner running so you wont end up with a big mess. It's good practice to put the wings on for you engine runs they help dampen the vibrations.

universal test stand, but you need standoffs for your engine to fit it

Oooops. Sorry... I guess there is some censorship going on. Where the " **** " appears, insert GlyingFiants.com with the "F" and "G" transposed.

I use a fuselage from a crash , seated in the flight box. It simulates a model, ie, it is not rigid, allowing model like movement while running engine. It allows reciever, servo and switch mounting, etc. Futaba says use an FM reciever for setup, not a PCM which will mask ignition caused glitches.
